The MoYu MFJS MeiLong 3x3 M is the magnetic version of the MeiLong, the budget 3x3 from MoFang JiaoShi (MFJS), MoYu’s entry-level sub-brand. This item presents it in a gift box. It’s one of the most affordable and widespread magnetic cubes among beginners.

How it works

In a magnetic cube, small magnets between the pieces make each layer tend to align at the end of a turn. That reduces lock-ups and mistakes, which is why they’re now recommended for beginners too. On the MeiLong M the magnetic feel ranges from medium to gentle, so it helps without making the cube feel heavy. The tension, how tightly the layers are held together, is adjusted with the internal screws.

Design

It’s stickerless (no stickers: the colour is in the plastic), with an exterior that has a slightly matt feel. Some users find it a little dry when new; it smooths out with use or a drop of lubricant.

What level is it for?

It works well as a first magnetic 3x3, as a practice cube for methods such as CFOP or Roux and, given its presentation, as a gift for someone showing an interest in cubes.
