The YJ MGC 4x4 is the magnetic 4x4 in the MGC series from YJ (Yongjun), the range through which the brand offers mid-range magnetic cubes. It has been in the catalogue for years and served as the basis for VIN Cube’s first 4x4.

How it works

The 96 factory-fitted magnets attract the pieces so that each layer stops in alignment at the end of a turn. User reviews describe medium magnetic strength and a flexible mechanism that’s fairly loose out of the box, which makes for fast turning. Some point out that it can feel dry at first and that it improves with lubricant. The tension (how tightly the layers are held together) is adjusted with the internal screws.
