The MeiLong 4x4 M is MoYu’s budget magnetic 4x4, sold under its sub-brand MoFang JiaoShi (MFJS). It came out in 2020 and has remained one of the most common entry-level 4x4s. This version is the same cube, presented in a clear box that lets you see it and store it.

How it works

The magnets are fitted at the factory and pull the pieces into the aligned position at the end of each turn. On a 4x4 this is particularly helpful, because when you turn the inner layers it is easy to leave something misaligned and cause a lock-up. The tension (how tightly the layers are held) is adjusted with the screws in the core, using the screwdriver that usually comes with the cube.

Design

It is stickerless (no stickers: the colour is in the plastic itself), with a matte surface and medium grip. It measures 59 mm, slightly smaller than the usual 60 mm for a 4x4, which makes it easy to hold. The clear box keeps it stored, on display and free of dust.

What level it suits

It suits anyone who can already solve the 3x3 and wants to start on the 4x4, which is usually solved by reduction: first the centres, then the paired edges and finally as a 3x3. It is also a common choice as an affordable practice cube.
