The QiYi Warrior 5x5 is the base model in the Warrior series, QiYi’s budget range of big cubes. It is a non-magnetic 5x5, compact and light, designed for learning the format on a stable mechanism without paying what a magnetic model costs.

Design

It uses smaller edges and centres, an approach that aims for more controlled turning in the inner layers. The outer layers are slightly wider for stability, the pieces have anti-stick grooves that reduce friction, and the centre caps are one-piece, so they do not come loose. Corner cutting (the ability to turn even when the layers are not aligned) has been tuned with larger cuts in the outer pieces and smaller ones in the inner pieces.

Materials and finish

It is stickerless (no stickers: the colour is in the plastic itself), with a matte surface that hides fingerprints and does not shine. As it has no magnets, the turning feels free and alignment depends solely on the mechanism and the tension of the screws.
