The QiYi Warrior 5x5 M is the magnetic variant of the 5x5 in the Warrior series, the budget range of big cubes that QiYi revamped between 2025 and 2026. It starts from the same cube as the non-magnetic version and adds a three-level magnetic system, something unusual in a 5x5 at this price point.

How it works

The magnets pull the pieces in as they approach the aligned position, so each layer tends to stop in place rather than overshoot. QiYi distributes them across three levels: outer layers, inner layers and the middle layer. On a 5x5, where solving by reduction means turning many inner layers, having that help in every layer makes the turning more predictable. Some users describe the magnetic strength as gentle, in keeping with its range.

Design

It shares the structure of the non-magnetic version: smaller edges and centres, slightly wider outer layers for control, anti-stick grooves in the pieces and one-piece centre caps that stop them popping off. Corner cutting (the ability to turn even when the layers are not aligned) is generous. It is stickerless (no stickers: the colour is in the plastic itself), with a matte surface; a separate version with a glossy UV coating is also available.
