Description
The Trapeze is one of the mini puzzles in the Matchbox series from Professor Puzzle, the British publisher of games and puzzles. It comes in a box shaped like a matchbox and sets a string challenge: move some wooden balls from one of its loops to the other and, if you like, return them to where they started.

How it works
It belongs to the string puzzle family, a variant of disentanglement puzzles: there are no hidden mechanisms, just a cord, a few balls and a frame they have to pass through. The balls won’t fit through just any gap, and the route that looks obvious doesn’t always lead to the solution. It pays to work slowly and keep the cord slack, so you don’t tangle it more than necessary.
The Matchbox series
Professor Puzzle’s Matchbox series brings together small puzzles, each kept in its own matchbox-style box. As well as the main puzzle, the sides of the box carry nine extra printed challenges, so the fun doesn’t end once you’ve solved the first one. It’s a format designed to carry around and bring out whenever you have a few minutes to spare.
