Description
The Mako Red is a limited edition deck created by the designer Toomas Pintson, author of several decks geared towards cardistry (the art of performing flashy displays and moves with cards). What makes it recognisable is its colour: an intense red meant to make the cards stand out when they are in motion.

Design
The visual weight falls on the back, printed in bright shades of red. The idea is that, when you spread fans, do cuts or spins, the colour forms patterns that can be appreciated from a distance, something much sought after in cardistry videos. The faces are standard: they keep the indices and classic court cards of a poker deck, so they read without difficulty.
Manufacturing
It is printed in the United States by the United States Playing Card Company (USPCC) on a soft-feel premium card stock with a crushed treatment (a pressing of the stock that leaves the card thinner and more flexible). The print run was limited to 2,750 decks.
