The Cobalt V2 belongs to Bicycle’s MetalLuxe line, which takes the Rider Back, the brand’s most recognisable deck, and replaces the ink on the back with real metal stamping. In this case the colour is an intense cobalt blue with metallic reflections.

Design

The back keeps the traditional Rider Back design and the faces retain Bicycle’s classic, understated style. The appeal lies in the metallic finish, which changes its shine depending on how the light falls. The box is glossy and has a stamped finish.

Manufacturing

MetalLuxe technology, exclusive to the United States Playing Card Company, stamps real metal onto the back of each card and then protects it with a proprietary coating before applying the Air Cushion finish (a very fine embossing that helps the cards glide). The aim is that, despite the metallic treatment, the card keeps the same flexibility and durability as a regular Bicycle Rider Back. It is made in the USA.
