ShengShou · Rubik's Cubes and Speedcubing

ShengShou puzzles: Mirror 3x3 Gold and Mirror 2x2, Classic Magic Clock M in WCA format, Master Pyraminx and Phoenix Megaminx.

ShengShou (圣手) is a Chinese twisty puzzle manufacturer known for its big cubes and unusual puzzles. Many of its products come under the name SengSo, which is the same brand. On this page you will find the ShengShou mirror cube range, the magnetic Clock in competition format, the Master Pyraminx and the Phoenix Megaminx.

ShengShou: big cubes and unusual puzzles

ShengShou has made big cubes such as the 15x15 and the 17x17, as well as Megaminx variants, multi-layer Pyraminx and non-standard Clocks. It is a brand people turn to once they have the usual puzzles and want something different.

Part of its catalogue is sold under the name SengSo: in specialist shops those models are listed with ShengShou as the maker. At The Joker House we keep the name on each box, so you will find the large Clocks and the YuFeng Pyraminx on the SengSo page.

Advanced

How to choose

If you can solve the 3x3

Recommended: Mirror 3x3 Gold, Mirror 2x2

They are solved with the same algorithms, but by reading shapes instead of colours. The 2x2 is the gentlest way to start. If you have not mastered the normal cube yet, start with the step-by-step method.

If you want a new challenge

Recommended: Classic Magic Clock M, Master Pyraminx, Phoenix Megaminx

The Master Pyraminx looks like a Pyraminx but has edges that you pair up as on a big cube; it is worth knowing how to solve the standard Pyraminx first.

ShengShou FAQ

Are ShengShou and SengSo the same thing?

Yes. SengSo is the name carried by part of ShengShou's products. Each product is listed on the page of the name printed on its box.

Who invented the Mirror Cube?

Hidetoshi Takeji, in 2006, under the name Bump Cube. He changed the thickness of the layers of a 3x3 so that each piece had a different shape. You will find more variants in unusual cubes and shape mods.

Can the ShengShou Clock be used in competition?

The Classic Magic Clock M has the format of the WCA Clock event. In June 2026 the WCA announced that Clock will no longer be official after the 2027 World Championship, so until then it is still used in competition.
