The MFJS MeiLong 3C is a revision of the MeiLong 3x3, the budget cube from MoFang JiaoShi (MFJS), MoYu’s entry-level sub-brand. Compared with the original, it switches the outer finish to frosted (matt and satiny) and modifies the pieces with grooves aimed at more stable, smoother turning.

How it works

It’s a non-magnetic 3x3: the layers don’t settle back into place on their own at the end of a turn, so precision is down to your hands. The tension, meaning how tightly the layers are held together, is adjusted with the internal screws. Users describe it as stable with good grip, and smoother than the original MeiLong.

Design

It’s stickerless (no stickers: the colour is in the plastic). At 55 mm per edge it’s slightly smaller than the classic 57 mm 3x3, a size that suits medium or small hands well and that some people take advantage of for one-handed solving.

What level is it for?

It’s a cube for learning the layer-by-layer method or your first steps in CFOP, for keeping as a spare or for taking on your travels without worrying. To bring your times down seriously, the next step is usually a magnetic 3x3, such as the MeiLong M from the same series.
