This magnetic QiYi Warrior (Warrior M) is the version with magnets of the Warrior, QiYi’s budget 3x3. It’s designed as a first taste of magnetic cubes: it keeps the simplicity of the original model and adds factory-fitted magnets.

How it works

The magnets sit inside the pieces and pull each layer towards the aligned position at the end of a turn. For anyone coming from a non-magnetic cube, the difference is most noticeable when chaining algorithms together: there’s less overshooting and fewer corrections. Some user reviews point out that the magnets are on the gentle side and that the cube turns very fast out of the box, something you can tone down by adjusting the tension (how tightly the layers are held together).

Design

It’s stickerless (no stickers: the colour is in the plastic itself). At around 58 g it’s a particularly light 3x3, which means less hand fatigue during long sessions and turning that feels nimble. Retailers list it at 55 or 56 mm, either way within the standard size for a 3x3.

What level is it for?

It suits anyone who has already learnt to solve the 3x3 on a basic cube and wants to try a magnetic one without moving up to more expensive models, or as a light spare cube.
