This QiYi pack brings together four puzzles that aren’t NxN cubes: the QiHeng Megaminx, the QiCheng Skewb, the QiMing Pyraminx and the Mastermorphix. They’re all stickerless (no stickers: the colour is in the plastic itself) and from the brand’s non-magnetic range.

What’s included

The Megaminx is a twelve-sided dodecahedron that extends the logic of the 3x3. The Skewb is cube-shaped but turns around four axes that run through the corners, and each turn moves half the puzzle. The Pyraminx is a four-sided pyramid with tips that turn on their own. The Mastermorphix is a 3x3 shape mod: inside it works like a cube, but its pieces have different shapes and sizes that give it the look of a rounded pyramid and distort it when scrambled.

Four different kinds of logic

Each puzzle requires a different way of thinking, and trying them together helps you see which mechanism hooks you most. Megaminx, Skewb and Pyraminx are official events of the WCA, the association that organises speedcubing competitions; the Mastermorphix isn’t, but it makes you pay attention to the shape of the pieces as well as their colour.

Which level

It mainly suits anyone who can already solve the 3x3 and wants to expand their collection; the Pyraminx and Skewb are also accessible for beginners.
