Description
Piracy is a theory11 deck set on the open sea, among the secrets of the deep and the guardians of lost treasure. Its motto, Cerca Trova (“seek and you shall find”), sums up the sense of adventure that runs through the whole design.

Design
Everything was drawn from scratch: typefaces, suits, court cards, aces and jokers. Its most distinctive feature is the use of double foil (metallic stamping) in two tones, gold and a dark gunmetal silver, applied to both the backs and the faces. The court cards, aces and jokers are the cards with the most foil.
Manufacturing
To achieve that effect, foil is combined with hot stamping (a technique that transfers the metallic film to the paper using heat and pressure). The cards also have a textured embossing, a slight raised texture on the surface.
