This is the Gengar edition of the GAN V100 MagLev UV, the result of an official collaboration between GAN and Pokémon. It leaves the base cube untouched, a compact 55 mm, 64 g 3x3 with the MagLev system, and adds Gengar-inspired decoration and presentation designed for collectors.

How it works

In magnetic cubes, the magnets between pieces help the layers align at the end of a turn. MagLev goes a step further: it replaces the springs in the core with opposing magnets that repel each other and keep the layers under compression, giving light turning with little friction. According to specialist retailers, the MagLev version of the V100 has 76 magnets and shares the numbered setup system with the GAN16, with 72 combinations that you change using the included tool.

Design

The cube is stickerless (no stickers: the colour is in the plastic) with its own Gengar graphics, and it has a UV coating, a glossy layer that improves grip and protects against scratches. Buyers highlight the themed packaging; the whole set with its box weighs around 560–570 g, compared with 64 g for the cube alone.

What level is it for?

It performs just like a standard V100 MagLev UV, so it’s suitable for practice and competition in the hands of anyone who already solves fluently. At the same time, it’s a collector’s piece for Pokémon fans.
