The MoreTry Tianma X3 V1 is the first 3x3 of the Tianma series, with which MoreTry debuted as a brand in the speedcubing world. It follows the line of conventional magnetic cubes, with magnets located in the corners and edges to give a slight feeling of snap and help align the layers when releasing them, an aid especially appreciated when starting to lower times.

Its dimensions are the standard ones of this category, 55.5 x 55.5 x 55.5 mm, with an approximate weight of 75 grams. That combination leaves a light cube of recognisable size, without surprises when switching from another modern 3x3. The version sold is the Standard, with a stickerless Bright finish, of vivid and clean colours that stand out well even in irregular lighting conditions.

The general feel is in line with what is expected from an initiation model into speedcubing: reasonably quick turns, some forgiveness when not perfectly cutting corners and a magnetisation you notice but without reaching the level of high-end cubes. It is a good entry point for someone starting to be interested in times and wanting to go a step beyond a basic cube without spending too much.

It comes with a screwdriver, a microfibre cloth and an antifog wipe, just enough to set it up and clean the surface. As a first magnetic cube, it does well; as a secondary cube to always have at hand, it also fits without problems. It is one of those models that don't stand out for a singular feature but do their job well within a contained price range.

To get the most out of it, it is worth adjusting the screw tension with the included screwdriver to personal taste: tighter for control, looser for speed. It also helps to spend the first sessions "breaking it in" with continuous turns, since most cubes gain smoothness after the first hours of use.
